1860s is excited to offer its first “Beer & Bites” night this Thursday, March 1, 6-8 p.m.
Join us in the Game Room as a representative from our friends at 4 Hands Brewing Company offers free tastings of its beer styles and brands. On every can of 4 Hands beer, there is a suggested food pairing. 1860s will have samples from the menu to try with each of the beer styles. Hence, Beer & Bites!
With the growth in St. Louis-based brewers over the past decade, we are exposed to more beer brands and styles than ever before. Differences in ingredients and brewing processes affect how we taste the food we are eating, too.
The purpose of 1860s Beer & Bites night is to share information on why different beer styles go well with certain food types. No, it’s not just a wine thing! Sure, what really matters is your preferences, but we will make it fun to hear, and of course taste, the differences. It’s a great opportunity to try the lager, IPAs, and stout styles before you buy a pint. And you can try a sample them with tastes of spicy, beefy and cheesy food items.
We look forward to seeing you and your feedback! Every day there is live music in the Saloon by musicians entertaining with blues, R&B, Motown and Classic Rock. In addition to the Saloon, the 1860’s Game Room next door is a great gathering spot for playing pool, darts, shuffle board and more.
And the Hardshell Café has a wonderful New Orleans garden atmosphere. Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m., there are great Happy Hour Specials on locally brewed beer, drinks and select appetizers.
